About Waikato Regional Council
Waikato Regional Council is a regional council: it owns extensive flood-protection and land-drainage schemes (Lower Waikato, Waihou-Piako, Hauraki Plains — stopbanks, floodgates, large pump stations, buried culverts/piped drains) plus monitoring bores. It does NOT own three-waters reticulation, which the district councils, IAWAI and Waikato Waters run.
