About IAWAI – Flowing Waters
IAWAI – Flowing Waters is the council-controlled organisation that runs drinking water, wastewater and stormwater for Hamilton City and the Waikato District. Jointly owned by Hamilton City Council and Waikato District Council, it took over three-waters services and assets from both councils from 1 July 2026. Any excavation near water, wastewater or stormwater assets in these areas should be checked with IAWAI before work begins.
